.On December 1, 1955, after a long day at work, Rosa Parks decided to stay seated and refused to give up her seat to a white person and without realizing it she started a movement. She was part of a community of women activists coming together to take on segregation. She became an icon and a symbol for African Americans trying to make a difference.
